Regarded as “a breathless, razor-sharp slasher worthy of the legacy” (Meagan Navarro, Bloody Disgusting), 2022’s Scream will be heading to both digital download, as well as DVD and Blu-ray, very soon.
Scream was one of the most highly-anticipated movies of this year (2022), and many horror fans would agree that it did not disappoint.
The newest addition to the incredible Scream franchise, which began in 1996, has been certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and praised for its intense action, casting and so much more by fans of the series.
Scream follows a new group of teens who are being terrorised by a new Ghostface killer. One member of the group, Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera), travels back to Woodsboro when her sister, Tara (Jenna Ortega), is attacked by the killer.
One by one, Sam’s friendship group becomes small and smaller, as the new Ghostface killer tracks them down.
However, the old faces aren’t gone for good, as Dewey (David Arquette), who still lives in the town plagued by death, tells Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) about the killings, prompting her to leave her family and join both Dewey and a returning Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) in finding out who the killer is.
The Digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray SteelBook, 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases are filled to the brim with content to die for, such as deleted scenes, interviews with both the old and new cast members, as well as a look at the outstanding legacy left behind of horror icon, Wes Craven.
These physical releases include:
- Filmmaker Commentary: The directors, writers and filmmakers reveal the unwritten rules for surviving this genre-busting horror movie.
- Bloodlines: Catch up with Scream stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette for a deep dive into their characters and why they came back for a fresh stab at their favourite horror franchise.
- New Blood: Meet the new generation of Woodsboro victims and potential killers!
- In the Shadow of the Master: The cast honour movie master Wes Craven and look back on his incredible legacy as the director who redefined horror.
- Deleted Scenes: They're back from the dead: see the scenes slashed from the movie.
Scream will be available to purchase on digital download March 30th, 2022, and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray SteelBook, 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 11th, 2022.
Scream is easily one of the best films I’ve seen this year, even though it’s only March.
It was smart, and just like the ‘96 original, knew exactly what it was and how to create tension, great characters, and how to move the story along perfectly.
I cannot wait to buy the Blu-ray and add to my Scream collection!
