Scarlett Johansson's voice work in Her has been overlooked at the Golden Globes.
Johansson has been receiving rave reviews for her performance in the Spike Jonze directed film.
She has already picked up a Best Actress prize at the Rome Film Festival, but her performance has been ruled ineligible for a Golden Globe nod but the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The HFPA notified movie studio Warner Bros. of its decision yesterday (26.11.13).
Her stars Joaquin Phoenix, and follows his character as he forms a relationship with his internal operating system - the character the Johansson voices.
Warner Bros are still throwing their weight behind the actresses performance and will continue to campaign for possible Oscar and Screen Actors Guild nominations.
This snub looks set to re-ignite the argument that actors who are not seen on screen should still be recognised for their work.
Andy Serkis was snubbed for his depiction of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, because Gollum was a computer created character.
However, it was Serkis who brought the character life using motion capture technology. Avatar suffered the same problem.
