Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly set to play a singer battling a serious health issue in a new dramatic movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former 'Sex and the City' star will portray a musician called Vivienne living in New York City who receives a life-changing medical diagnosis which forces her to re-connect with her loved ones in the as-yet untitled film.
The screenplay has been created by Laura Eason, who is most famous for penning the script for hit US TV drama 'House of Cards'.
French filmmaker Fabien Constant - whose previous work includes documentary 'Mademoiselle C', which chronicles the life and work of global fashionista Carine Roitfeld - is on board to direct and shooting is scheduled to start in The Big Apple this winter.
As well as being the lead star, Parker, 51, will also act as a producer along with Constant.
Although she has limited experience of roles which have required her to sing, Parker did appear in the Broadway musical 'Annie' as a teenager.
The actress - who is married to Matthew Broderick - can next be seen in new HBO TV comedy series 'Divorce', which airs in October.
