Samuel L. Jackson says he has thought about auditioning for Star Wars: Episode VII.
Jackson took on the role of Mace Windu in three previous Star Wars films and almost turned up at the open auditions in the U.S. and the UK.
Speaking on The Late Show with David Letterman the actor said: I heard on television that they were auditioning people for 'Star Wars' and I said, 'well maybe we should just go to the auditions and see if we can get a job!'"
And while Jackson didn't audition he admits that he has hinted to JJ Abrams that he wanted to be involved in the new film - however, that doesn't seem to have been successful.
"I pretty much hinted to JJ that I wanted to be in the film at George Lewis' wedding and he was kind of like 'mm' [nodding], that was about the most I got out of him.
"So maybe all three of us could just get together and go over to the star wars set one day and just kind of stand around and see if maybe they could use some old Jedi."
We may not be seeing Jackson in Star Wars: Episode VII but we are going to be seeing plenty of him as he has a string of projects in the pipeline.
Oldboy, Reasonable Doubt, RoboCop and Captain America: The Winter Solider are just some of his upcoming films.
