Samuel L. Jackson says he was drawn to Kingsman: The Secret Service because he feels that he will never be in a Bond movie.

Jackson reveals that he has always wanted to play a villain in the Bond franchise but believes that he will never get that opportunity. However, Kingsman: The Secret Service allowed him to tackle a Bond style villain role.

Speaking to The Observer magazine, the actor said: "I don't think I'll ever get to be in a Bond film, so I felt like this was an opportunity to play a really great Bond villain."

Kingsman: The Secret Service sees Jackson team up with director Matthew Vaughn for the first time, as the Mark Millar comic is adapted for the big screen. Jackson takes on the role of Valentine and is joined on the cast list by Colin Firth, Michael Caine, and Taron Egerton.

If you are a Jackson fan, you are in for a real treat this year as we are going to be seeing him in a string of movies.

He has already completed work on Cell, Barely Lethal, and Big Game and will be back as Nick Fury in Avengers: Age of Ultron. We last saw Jackson take on the role of Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and this will be his second Avengers film.

Age of Ultron is set to be one of the biggest films of 2015, and will see Jackson reunite with Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner.

Jackson is also set to reunite with director Quentin Tarantino in The Hateful Eight and is also working on an adaptation of Tarzan.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is released 29th January.
