This week saw the release of Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm on Amazon Prime Video, and with it of course came a whole boat-load of controversy.
The film saw the return of Sacha Baron Cohen's character Borat Sagdiyev, who travelled to America alongside his 15-year-old daughter Tutar, played by Maria Bakalova.
Bakalova's character manages to trick former New York City mayor and current attorney to President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani in the film, convincing him she's a journalist and conducting a hotel room interview with the 76-year-old.
The scenes are some of the film's most outrageous, as cameras capture Giuliani move to the hotel bedroom for the interview, putting his hand down his trousers.
Though some have alleged he is doing such a thing in a sexual manner, Giuliani has hit back at Cohen and the movie, saying he was tucking in his shirt and leaning back on the bed to do so.
Giuliani took to Twitter to say that Cohen was a "stone-cold liar" by implying he was doing anything other than "tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment."
He called the video "a complete fabrication."
He then turned the conversation towards the upcoming American election, saying it was "an effort to blunt my relentless exposure of the criminality and depravity of [former Vice President and Democratic Presidential nominee] Joe Biden and his entire family."
Following on from the accusations, Cohen was given the opportunity to respond alongside his female co-star.
Weighing in on Giuliani's comments, he replied: "I would say that if the President's lawyer found what he did there appropriate behaviour, then Heaven knows what he's doing with other female journalists in hotel rooms."
"I wanna thank you [Cohen]; I was sure that you were gonna save me from everything," added Bakalova.
"I was quite concerned for her during the scene," Cohen continued.
"We'd built a hideaway that I was hiding in during the entire scene, so I was monitoring it by text but, it's my responsibility as a producer to ensure that the lead actor is looked after."
The star also got in character once more as Borat, posting a video to the in-character Twitter account which you can watch for yourself below:
Whether or not he was tucking in his shirt, it's undeniable that Giuliani acted inappropriately in the exchange. He touched what he believed to be a young female reporter numerous times, asking for her phone number and drinking alcohol.
If that's considered to be normal behaviour in the modern world, then we really are moving backwards.
