Ruby Rose almost drowned on the set of her new movie 'Meg'.
The 30-year-old actress has recalled the time she was left shaken as she felt herself sinking during the filming of a water scene and was even more worried when the director John Turteltaub thought she was just acting for the intense shark scene, rather than trying to rescue herself.
Ruby said: "John thought I was acting, and I was acting for a little bit, but then I really needed them to throw me something to get out of the water.
"(John) was like, 'Just hold, this is great, this is amazing.' And I was thinking, 'This is not fantastic, I'm sinking'."
And the actress explained that although she was worried for her safety, she tried to stay professional and attempted to make the incident turn in to a great scene for the upcoming horror flick.
Ruby told Daily Mail Australia: "I then screamed, 'Help!' I did it in my American accent because I thought, 'If this looks amazing, I still want it'.
"Because you can't say anything longer than [Ruby] when you're choking water up."
The 'Orange Is The New Black' star will play a nerd called Jaxx Herd in the movie, which is based on the 1997 science fiction book 'Meg: A Novel Of Deep Terror' by Steve Alten.
The plot features a former Naval captain, played by Jason Statham, who is recruited to take on a deep-sea mission to rescue scientists who are under attack from a fearsome white shark.
Ruby will star alongside Rainn Wilson, Robert Taylor and Australian actress Jessica McNamee and the film is set for release in 2018.
