Rosamund Pike says she is excited about being part of the highly anticipated Gone Girl.
Gone Girl is set to hit the big screen this autumn, and is an adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel of the same name.
The movie sees Pike team up with filmmaker David Fincher for the first time, and she is thrilled by the anticipation that is surrounding the movie.
Speaking to the Press Association, the actress said: "The anticipation for the film is wonderful, it's really exciting. I went past a new poster for a new novel today and again it's comparing it to Gone Girl.
"It's become the benchmark to compare psychological thrillers to. I'm excited to be part of a film where the appetite is so great."
Pike will take on the role of Amy Dunne in the film, alongside Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris, and Scoot McNairy.
Pike returned to the big screen on Friday as she reunited with Simon Pegg for Hector and the Search for Happiness.
She has also completed work on comedy What We Did on Our Holiday and thriller Return to Sender.
Gone Girl is released 3rd October.
