Rosamund Pike and Christian Bale "barely spoke" when shooting 'Hostiles'.
The 37-year-old actress - who previously worked with the actor in 2015's 'The Deep Blue Good-by' - revealed her on-screen co-star kept his distance when they were not filming in front of the camera.
She said: "He is intense in a wonderful way. We barely spoke off screen. He would keep a distance. Our characters in 'Hostiles' are quite dysfunctional but have this profound connection that we let happen without ever really talking about it."
And although the 'Gone Girl' star revealed the pair weren't close during the filming of the upcoming Western drama, Rosamund insisted she wouldn't rule out working with him again in the future.
She told the Metro newspaper: "I loved working with Christian because of this strange thing where we didn't really communicate, but yet I knew I could throw anything at him and he was just there. I would work with him again, any actress would."
Meanwhile, the ex-Bond girl - who starred in 2002's 'Die Another Day' - also gave her thoughts on who should be next to play the British agent.
When asked who she would like to see play the iconic character, she shared: "Gah! I thought of someone perfect the other day! But I can't say. Bond has this quintessential masculinity, which is politically incorrect, but you have to have a person who has got that. You can make it modern and you can make the women stronger but the bond that Ian Fleming wrote is basically a sexist.
"The world is changing and Bond is trying to change it, but he has to maintain some of those characteristics."
