Ron Perlman says that Pacific Rim is bigger than anything that director Guillermo Del Toro has done before.
Perlman reunites with director Del Toro for this science fiction film and he admits that he was not prepared for what he saw when he watched the film.
Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "This is my fifth movie with Guillermo del Toro, at the risk of hyperbole he's completely outdone himself, but really he has.
"This is way bigger than anything he's every done, way more epic, way more mind-blowing and I was not prepared for what I saw."
Pacific Rim is the first film that del Toro and Perlman have worked on together since Hellboy 2: The Golden Army back in 2008 - in fact this is the first directorial out for Del Toro since that movie.
Perlman went on to talk about working with Del Toro and the friendship that has blossomed between the two: "It's always lovely working with him. He's my really, really dear friend and the profound effect that he's had on me as an actor I can't ever put into words."
And Pacific Rim is just one of the movies that Perlman has completed as he has also finished work on Kid Cannabis, Angry Little God and Poker Night.
Pacific Rim is released 12th July.
