Robert Downey Jr believes that there is still 'a number of other things we have to do' in the Iron Man franchise.
The actor returns to the role of Tony Stark this summer for a third stand alone film.
And while Downey Jr believed that this would be the movie that delivered all the answers he now believes that there is more that can be done with this character.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "I put so much onus on Iron Man 3. Iron Man 3 was supposed to answer all the questions for an audience.
"Cure all my uncomfortable moments in the past playing this character and get in every idea that fell by the wayside the last three movies.
"Then we shot the movie and I feel like there’s still a number of other things we have to do."
However the actor admitted that he did not know if a fourth Iron Man film was in the pipeline. Also Downey Jr had a three picture contract - which is completed with the release of this film.
Iron Man 3 is one of the most anticipated of the summer blockbusters as it is set to the biggest film and most challenging for the central character.
Iron Man 3 is released 25th April.
