Robert De Niro has accepted that he is most likely to be cast in father and grandfather role now.
De Niro is back in two movies this week, Last Vegas and American Hustle. But he knows that he is not longer going to carry movies as a romantic lead.
Speaking to the Metro, the actor said: "That's just life. We can't play certain parts any more. We're playing the father or the grandfather or the great-grandfather and that can be written in a funny way, so it's fine.
"But you're not carrying the movie as the young romantic lead - those days are gone.
"I'm hoping that if things work out with digital technology, they can finally make us look younger and I can go on for another 40 years."
De Niro teams up with Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas and Kevin Kline for comedy Last Vegas; which follows a group of old friends who throw a bachelor party.
He also reunites with director David O.Russell for a small role in American Hustle.
De Niro has also completed work on The Bag Man and is currently filming Hands of Stone.
