Rihanna has revealed that her character in Home reminds her of herself.
Rihanna is set to return to the big screen this week - her voice is at least - as she bring the character of Tip alive in DreamWorks Animation movie Home.
Rihanna is still very much kicking off her acting career, and this is the first animation movie that she has tackled. But she reveals that she really did connect with her character.
Speaking to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, she said: "She definitely reminds me of myself. She's sassy, she's fearless but she's very adventurous.
"She's brave enough go out on that adventure. And she's determined to get what she wants. In this case she's determined to find her mother."
Home, which its the big screen on Friday, sees Rihanna team up with director Tim Johnson, while Jim Parsons, Steve Martin, and Jennifer Lopez are all also on the cast list.
Rihanna kicked off her acting career in 2012, when she starred in action film Battleship. She has since gone on to appear in the likes of This Is The End and Annie.
Home sees the singer take on the role of Tip - a young girl who is looking for her mother after the planet has been invaded by aliens.
And Rihanna says that the story and the character were the major draws for her when she read the script.
She continued: "Throughout the entire film that's the mission behind the journey, to find her mum. And I love that and I love her personality.
"I love everything about her. She's real, she's accessible, she wears hoodies. And that's me all day."
