Richard Madden has revealed that he was 'terrified' when he first landed the role of Prince Charming in Cinderella.
Madden is part of an all star cast of the live action remake of the popular fairytale and he was on the red carpet at the London premiere earlier this week.
The stars of the film descended onto London for the UK premiere of the film, which has already stormed to the top of the U.S. box office.
And while Madden admits that he was nervous when first landing the role, he says he was 'honoured' to have been cast by Kenneth Branagh.
Speaking on the red carpet, he said: "I was terrified to begin with and then I was thrilled. I was just honoured that Kenneth Branagh chose me for the part, that was just more than I could have asked for."
Cinderella marks the first time that Madden has worked with actor and director Branagh, as he star alongside Lily James, Helena Bonham Carter and Oscar winner Cate Blanchett.
Madden is best known for his role of Rob Stark in Game of Thrones, Cinderella is set to be the biggest film role of his career to date.
And he is going to continue mixing his film and television work going forward, as he has finished filming Bastille Day with Idris Elba and is currently working on a TV adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover.
Cinderella is released 27th March.
