Richard Madden says it was great to have a happy ending with new film Cinderella.
Madden is set to take on the role of Prince Charming in the new Disney live action adaptation of the popular fairytale, which will see Kenneth Branagh back in the director's chair.
Cinderella marks the first time that Madden has worked with actor/director Branagh, while Lily James takes on the central role in the film.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actor said: "I die in everything. No, I did this because I loved the script and because I loved [director] Kenneth Branagh. That's what really kind of pulled me to it actually."
"I mean, it is nice to have a happy ending for a change."
Cinderella is set to be the biggest movie role of his career to date, and is the first time that we have seen him on the big screen since A Promise back 2013.
Madden is best known for his television roles in the likes of Birdsong, Game of Thrones, and Klondike, but now he is really making a name for himself as a film actor - Cinderella is set to send his star rocketing even further.
Madden has already completed work on movie Bastille Day, which is the latest offering from director James Watkins and also star Idris Elba and Charlotte Le Bon.
And the actor is currently filming a new television adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover, in which he will take on the role of Oliver Mellors alongside Holliday Grainger and James Norton.
Cinderella is released 27th March.
