Richard Madden thought he was too old to play Prince Charming.
The British actor is set to take on the role as director Kenneth Branagh brings a new live action version of the fairytale to the big screen.
Speaking to Access Hollywood the actor said: "It feels really odd. I'm like, 'Surely, not me. Surely, I'm too old. I can't be!' Oh, actually, all right. I'm doing it!"
Madden went on to say that the movie will stay very true to the original tale and he is excited to be on board.
"(It's) very true to the tale of the story. There's little changes happening now, so I'm not sure where it's going to go, but it's the story of Cinderella as we know it and it's an amazing cast with an outstanding director, so it's going to be really exciting.
Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Stellan Skarsgard, Holliday Grainger and Lily James are all also on the cast list.
The movie is currently in pre-production, and filming is expected to get under way later this year.
Madden has also completed work on A Promise as well as TV mini-series Klondike.
Cinderella is set for a 2015 release.
