Reese Witherspoon is to star in new indie comedy 'Home Again'.
Witherspoon is to play the lead role in the project which has been written by Hallie Meyers-Shyer - the daughter of writer-and-director Nancy Meyers - who is also set to direct.
The plot follows the life of a recently separated mother-of-two who makes the decision to move to Los Angeles with her kids in a bid to start afresh, but whose life gets increasingly chaotic after she agrees to help three charismatic young guys.
Rose Byrne was initially in the frame to play the female protagonist, but now Hallie, with Nancy's help, has secured Reese.
The Best Actress Oscar winner is busy with a number of projects both in front and behind the camera.
She has been busy voicing a character for musical comedy 'Sing' - which comes out in January - and has also been working on HBO mini-series 'Big Little Lies'.
The Hollywood star has also been working as a producer on 'Barbie and Ruth' which is about the life of Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie.
Reese's production company, Pacific Standard picked up the movie rights to Robin Gerber's book 'Barbie and Ruth', which documents Handler's rise to success with the iconic blonde doll and the movie is due out in 2018.
Ruth was inspired to create Barbie after watching her daughter Barbara playing with paper dolls as if they were adults.
She also noticed Barbara couldn't properly dress her dolls in the clothes she had made them.
Ruth along with the help of her husband Elliot - who worked for toy manufacturers Mattel - developed and launched Barbie in 1959, and instantly had a hit on their hands which has lasted to this day.
As well as inventing Barbie, later in her life Ruth co-founded a company that manufactured an ultra-realistic replica of a women's breast after she herself developed breast cancer.
