Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara are set to star in 'Don't Mess with Texas'.
The 'Mud' actress and 'Modern Family' star are being lined up to star in the comedy flick, which Universal Pictures have now acquired the rights to following a bidding war, Deadline reports.
Penned by John Quaintance and David Feeney, Witherspoon is set to produce alongside Bruna Papandrea and Dana Fox through Pacific Standard, with Vergara acting as co-producer.
The two leading ladies will play a cop and a prisoner who are on the run in the picture and production is scheduled to begin in March 2014.
Both actresses have a busy schedule ahead of them.
Witherspoon will star alongside Keanu Reeves in sci-fi film 'Passengers' - which was bought by The Weinstein Company during Cannes Film Festival - and can next be seen in Atom Egoyan's drama 'Devil's Knot' as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Inherent Vice'.
Vergara - who, along with her role in the award-winning TV series, has previously starred in Bobby and Peter Farrelly's 'The Three Stooges' - will next be seen in Robert Rodriguez's 'Machete Kills' and also has lent her vocals to children's movie 'The Smurfs 2'.
