Warner Bros. Entertainment UK have been stoking the fires of excitement for their upcoming video game adaptation movie, Rampage, with the release of a brilliant new trailer. In it, we see leading actor Dwayne Johnson as Davis Okoye, doing his all to stop the monstrously big creatures that are causing havoc from being destroyed. You can check out the teaser below:

Gorgeous CGI and a lot of action are coming the way of fans with this future release, and the film looks like it could be going a long way in breaking the video game movie curse. A lot of the time when video games are adapted for the big screen, they fail to light a fire in the bellies of those watching. You’ve just got to take a look at the responses to last year’s Assassin’s Creed to see how hard filmmakers and actors have to work to ensure their video game movies are a success.

Rampage sees Johnson in the role of a primatologist who keeps people at a distance, and instead shares his closest bonds with animals, especially the extraordinary silverback gorilla George, who’s been in his care since birth.

When a rogue genetic experiment goes wrong, the ape is turned into a rampaging beast, and it soon becomes clear that other animals throughout North America have been affected. Destroying everything in their paths, Okoye is forced to team up with a discredited genetic engineer to come up with an antidote, all whilst running through a battleground where the stakes are higher than ever.

Halting a global catastrophe is their goal, but the lives of all of the animals is also at the forefront of Okoye’s vision for the future.

Director Brad Peyton works from a screenplay by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel, with Engle providing the story for the script to be written off. The film also stars Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, P.J. Byrne, Marley Shelton, Breanne Hill, Jac Quaid and Matt Gerald.

Rampage comes to cinemas across the UK on April 13, 2018.
