Ralph Fiennes has revealed that he learnt a lot from making his directorial debut Coriolanus .
The British actor is in front and behind the camera for the adaptation of the Shakespeare play of the same name.
And Fiennes admits that it was a learning curve but is happy with the movie that he has produced.
Speaking to The Telegraph the actor turned filmmaker said: "While I hesitate to use the word 'proud', the essential feel of the film was very close to what I wanted to make.
"Having lived with it for a long time and having that distance, I can see all kinds of things you wish you could have done differently or better. I was on a big learning curve and made choices under pressure.
"If I was going to do this film again, I would have a lot more shooting time and revisit certain scenes which weren't executed to my satisfaction, because of the time pressure."
Coriolanus has been met well by the critics and the movie kicks off a busy year for the actor.
He will be back in the blockbuster later this year as he reprises the role of Hades in Wrath of the Titans.
He has also completed work on Great Expectations and is currently working on Skyfall.
Coriolanus is released 20th January.
