Rachel Weisz has described playing the 'bad girl' in Oz The Great and Powerful as 'fun'.
The actress stars alongside James Franco, Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams in the Sam Raimi directed film where she plays a witch.
And Weisz relished the chance to play the baddie and hopes to see a resurgence in these roles for actresses.
Speaking to the PRess Association the actress said: "It was really fun. Bad girls definitely have more fun, I think," she said on the yellow carpet.
"I grew up watching black and white movies with my mum and we used to watch Bette Davis, Jean Harlow and so on.
"It used to be very fashionable for women to play bad girls but I think it's gone out of fashion so I think it's a good idea to make a resurgence."
Oz The Great and Powerful is a prequel to the much loved film The Wizard Oz and sees the return of Raimi to the director's chair - this is his first film since Drag Me To Hell.
This movie wraps up a busy time for Weisz who has starred in the likes of The Deep Blue Sea - for which she was Golden Globe nominated - and The Bourne Legacy last year.
Oz The Great and Powerful is released 8th March.
