Quentin Tarantino has insisted his last film won't be a horror movie.

Tarantino - who previously revealed he will retire in just eight years' time - has remained tight-lipped on what two final movies he'll direct, but has confirmed he will steer clear of terrifying audiences.
He shared: "I did do my little deconstruction on the slasher movie with 'Death Proof' but I don't think I have the right kind of temperament to do something like, say, 'The Exorcist' that is all about one tone that is dread that carries through. I like breaking up [tones] a little bit.
"If I were really going to do a horror film it would something like ... but I honestly don't think I have the right temperament. I like going up and down and up and down and I think that would take away from the horror."
However, Quentin did reveal he wants to create a series adaptation of the novel 'Forty Lashes Less One'.
He explained to The Playlist: "This piece which I think really demands that I make it ... is a Elmore Leonard book called 'Forty Lashes Less One'. I actually think if you're going to call yourself a Western director today you need to do at least three (films).
"And I would really like to do (the Leonard book) as a mini-series, like an hour an episode, four or five hours, I'd write and direct it all."
Later, he added: "It's right along the lines of 'Django Unchained' and 'Hateful Eight' as it deals with race and it all takes place in a territorial prison and it's a really good book and I've always wanted to tell that story, so we'll see. I'm hoping I'll do that eventually."
