Delevingne - who previously filmed a small part in Guy Ritchie's 'King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword' - is set to star alongside Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore and Taron Egerton in the follow-up to the 2014 movie.

A source told The Sun: "It is her first lead role and she will be starring opposite some of the biggest names in the film industry.

"It speaks volumes that director Matthew Vaughn personally chose her for the part too. He had heard on the grapevine that Guy Ritchie was really impressed with her on King Arthur.

"She'll be playing the baddie and has been getting her teeth stuck in on set already."

Poppy is following in the footsteps of her model-turned-actress sister Cara, 23, who is currently starring in 'Suicide Squad'.

The source added: "The Delevingnes are in huge demand in Hollywood right now, and this is a pretty big deal for Poppy in the wake of Cara's success in 'Suicide Squad'."

Poppy has reportedly already started filming 'Kingsman'.

Meanwhile, Cara recently revealed she loves acting so much that she would do it for free, but she backed Jennifer Lawrence's views on equal pay for actresses.

The star said: "I'm still learning. I act for love. I give it my all. I would probably still do it even if I wasn't paid at all.

"But I need to be paid the same as the guy who has equal billing with me. Otherwise I won't do it. Because if you accept less, you're just letting everyone else down and continuing the cycle."
