No Pixar movie would be complete without a short film before it and we are going to be treated to Piper this summer, which will play before Finding Dory.

Piper

I am a huge fan of Pixar's short movies and Piper is so cute that I am totally in love with this character already. This is the first image from the short that we have been treated to so far.

Pixar has brought some wonderful and memorable short films over the years and it looks like we are in for another gem.

Alan Barillaro is in the director's chair for Piper, in what will he his first directorial outing for the studio. However, he is no stranger to the Pixar world, having worked as an animator and supervising animator on the likes of Brave, Wall-E, and The Incredibles.

Piper tells the story of a hungry sandpiper hatchling who ventures from her nest for the first time to dig for food by the shoreline. The only problem is, the food is buried beneath the sand where scary waves roll up onto the shore.

Finding Dory is the first Pixar film since the success of The Good Dinosaur and reunites us with characters, Dory, Marlin, and Nemo for the first time since Finding Nemo back in 2003.

Finding Dory is one of the most anticipated animation films of 2016 and is set to be one of the biggest films of the summer and of the year.

Piper will play in front of Finding Dory, which is released 29th July.
