Pitch Perfect was one of the unexpected hits of 2012, and next year we are going to see Pitch Perfect 2 hit the big screen - it is one of the films that we are already super excited about here at FemaleFirst.
We are going to see Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson reprise their roles as Beca and Fat Amy as they navigate their way through their senior year at Barden University.
Other familiar faces on the cast list include Elizabeth Banks, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, and Skylar Astin, while Hailee Steinfeld is the big new addition to the cast list.
However, it is all change in the director's chair as Elizabeth Banks takes over from Jason Moore. The actress is set to make her feature film directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2.
Pitch Perfect was released back in 2012 and went on to win over critics and audiences and become a major sleeper hits. The movie grossed over $113 million at the global box office - not bad for a movie made for $17 million - and has become the second highest grossing musical, behind School of Rock.
Filming on Pitch Perfect 2 got underway back in May, and the film has shot on Louisiana State University campus in Louisiana.
Kendrick really is an actress to watch out for next year, as Pitch Perfect 2 is just one movie that she has in the pipeline. The actress has also completed work on Into The Woods - in which she will play Cinderella - Get a Job, The Hollars, and Digging For Fire.
Kendrick is currently filming Mr Right, which sees her work with filmmaker Paco Cabezas, and star alongside Anson Mount, Tim Roth and Sam Rockwell.
Pitch Perfect 2 is released 15th May 2015.
