It seems that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is on the horizon as a shortlist of directors has been drawn up for the film.
According to Deadline Rupert Sanders, Joachim Ronning & Espen Sandberg and Fredrik Bond are all being considered.
Sanders is the biggest name on the list having brought us Snow White and the Huntsman last year but it seems that duo Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg could well be the frontrunners.
The duo were behind the fantastic Kon Tiki - which went on to be nominated for an Oscar earlier this year.
There arrival at the helm could well see the franchise taken in a completely new direction - which would be interesting to say the least.
Pirates of the Caribbean burst onto the screen for the first time back in 2003 and while next four movies have never lived up to the first they have been huge box office smashes.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was the last outing for Jack Sparrow back in 2011 and it grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
Johnny Depp is aboard the movie has Sparrow and a summer 2015 release date has been penciled in.
