Peyton Reed stepped into the Marvel world for the first time earlier this year with Ant-Man and in now believed to be nearing a deal to return for Ant-Man and the Wasp.
It was announced earlier this autumn that Ant-Man and the Wasp had been given the green light and is set to hit the big screen in 2018. The movie is set to see Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly return to the franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reed is in negotiations with the studio to return to the director's chair for that sequel.
Reed has a tough job on Ant-Man as he had to take over the helm from Edgar Wright and direct a script that was already completed by the time that he got on board.
However, Reed did a pretty good job as Ant-Man has enjoyed critical and commercial success and is closing in on $500 million at the global box office. Ant-Man marked the first time that Reed had tackled a Marvel film.
A sequel always seemed likely when we caught a glimpse of the Wasp suit at the end of the film and it is great to see this new franchise getting the change to grow further.
We are set to see Rudd reprise the role of Ant-Man next year with Captain America: Civil War - however, it is not known where he will fit into the story or how big his role in the film is going to be.
While we didn't see Ant-Man in Avengers: Age of Ultron, there is now scope for both him and The Wasp to possible make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
Ant-Man and the Wasp has a 6th July 2018 release date in the U.S. but no official UK release date has yet been announced.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the third of three Marvel films to hit the big screen in 2018, coming after Black Panther - which will be the launch of a new franchise - and Avengers: Infinity War Part I.
