Peyton Reed thinks 'Ant-Man' and 'Bring It On' are similar movies.
Reed, who helmed Marvel's new superhero movie and the 2000 teen comedy about cheerleading, thinks there are some striking parallels between the two films.
Speaking at the European premiere of 'Ant-Man' in London's Leicester Square last night (08.07.17), Peyton told BANG Showbiz: "You know, strangely there's a correlation. 'Ant-Man' is a very fast, kinetic movie and so was 'Bring It On'.
"Cheerleading requires a lot of choreography and it takes a lot of choreography to marshall ants. Even though they're fake, computer-generated ants, it takes a lot of co-ordination to figure it out."
Meanwhile, Peyton also acknowledged directing the new Marvel film was a thrill, because he's such an avid fan of comic books.
He said: "For me it's a dream come true - I mean that literally.
"As I kid, I read comic books and these characters really meant a lot to me as a kid. So to have a chance to direct a movie on this scale - it's a very small scale, but also a very big scale - was thrilling."
