Peter Jackson is working on a 'secret' film project, according to fellow filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
Jackson and Spielberg teamed up back in 2011 for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn - Spielberg directed and Jackson produced.
The duo was set to swap places for a second film. While the is still in the pipeline, Spielberg has revealed that Jackson is working on another film for his company.
Speaking to The Playlist, the director said: "Peter was so busy with The Hobbit that it took him away from Tintin and he's doing another film for my company now. It's a secret, nobody knows about it. Then after that, he'll do Tintin."
Sadly, Spielberg would say nothing more about this 'secret' film project but it will be exciting to see Jackson back in the director's chair.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies was the last feature film from Jackson as he went on to enjoyed more success with his second Middle Earth trilogy.
There has been some chatter about The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun, but there is no word on when we may see this film go into production, let alone be released.
As for Spielberg, he is back this summer we a new live-action adaptation of The BFG, which is based on the Roald Dahl classic.
The movie will see the director reunite with Mark Rylance - who will take on the title role. The pair worked together last year on Bridge of Spies, for which Rylance went on to win a Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
And there's no rest for Spielberg, as Ready Player One, which will also be an adaptation of a much-loved book, is his next film project.
Once again, Rylance is on board while Ben Mendelsohn, Tye Sheridan, T.J. Miller, Olivia Cooke, and Simon Pegg are also on board. The movie is in pre-production and will be released at the beginning of 2018.
