Peter Jackson has revealed that he is looking to move away from blockbusters when he has finished work on The Hobbit trilogy.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be hitting the big screen this December and is the second film in the Jackson's series if films.
But it sees that the Oscar winning filmmaker wants to focus on smaller projects in his native New Zealand when he brings this project to a close.
Speaking to the New Zealand Herald newspaper he said: We have got a few bits and pieces that we are working on, Fran [Walsh] and I. The things that we are most excited about are some New Zealand stories.
"We just want to step off the Hollywood blockbuster thing for a while and we've had a few New Zealand stories in line for a while that we think would make great films."
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will continue the adventure of Bilbo Baggins and the dwarves, and will bring us face to face with dragon Smaug for the first time.
Martin Freeman will be back as Baggins, while Ian McKellan and Richard Armitage are also reprising their roles.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released 13th December.
