Peter Berg reveals that Mark Wahlberg narrowly escaped death on the set of Lone Survivor.
Berg is back in the director's chair for the film, which sees him team up with Wahlberg for the first time.
The movie is based on the failed SEAL mission of 2005 and included a lot of on set explosions - one that almost went horribly wrong.
Speaking to Variety.com the director said: "I did blow him up, by accident .That was close. We almost lost Mark, for real."
Berg has penned the screenplay as well as being in the director's chair for the film; his first movie since Battleship last year.
Her has brought together a great cast as Wahlberg is joined by Ben Foster, Eric Bana, Emile Hirsch, Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Ludwig.
And as if almost losing your leading man wasn't bad enough, Berg revealed that a stunt man broke three ribs and punctured a lung when a jump of a cliff went wrong.
"I went up, I'm like, 'What are you going to do? And he said, 'Well, I'm going to run off this cliff, I'm going to leap off it, I'm going to hit that tree, I'm going to bounce off the tree, I'm going to hit a rock, and I'm going to bounce out.'"
Lone Survivor is released 31st January 2014.
