Wilton teams up with Spielberg for the first time as she stars in his latest film The BFG. The British actress is set to play the Queen in the adaptation of the much-loved Roald Dahl book.

The actress was on the red carpet in London for the film's premiere alongside Spielberg and the other actors.

Speaking at the premiere, Wilton said: "Like Roald Dahl, he is one of the great storytellers. He is also one of the great filmmakers of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century.

"The mix of those two storytellers, who understand the mind of a child, working together, is the best possible recipe for a film like the BFG."

Wilton stars alongside Ruby Barnhill, Mark Rylance, Rebecca Hall and Jemaine Clement in what is the first live-action adaptation of the book.

The BFG is the first big screen outing for Wilton since the success of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last year, the movie saw her reprise the role of Jean Ainslie.

She can currently be seen on our television screens in new ITV series Brief Encounters.

She has also been linked to a role in upcoming film Zoo, which sees Colin McIvor on writing and directing duties.

The BFG is released 22nd July.
