Paul Wernick says he and Rhett Reese are having a lot of fun writing the Deadpool scripts and hope to stay with this character for many years.
Wernick and Reese have already started work on the Deadpool sequel, which was greenlit earlier this year after the huge success of the first film.
The writing duo was brought back on board as the franchise moved forward and it seems like the pair is having a great time writing for this character.
Speaking to CBR, Wernick said: "We're writing the sequel, so that's ongoing. We would very much like to be a part of whatever this character is a part of moving forward. So I think that's certainly in our heads
"We just love the character so much. It's the most fun character we've ever written. Interestingly, the easiest character we've ever written.
"Because I think he is the most fun to write, so it's such a pleasure to sit down at the keyboard, that we would like to live with him for a very long time."
Deadpool hit the big screen earlier this year and was the first time that this character had starred in a solo film.
The movie saw Ryan Reynolds reprise the title role and the film went on to be a huge critical and commercial success.
So far, Deadpool has grossed over $760 million worldwide and is currently the third highest grossing movie of the year so far. However, that third place could be put under pressure from both The Jungle Book and Captain America: Civil War.
A second Deadpool movie could hit the big screen as early as next year while Reynolds has expressed interest in the possibility of an X-Force film at some point in the future.
Deadpool is released on DVD 13th June.
