Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner is set to retire following the actor's death at the end of last year.
Filming on Fast & Furious 7 was already underway when Walker was killed in a car accident on November 30th.
Walker has played Connor since we were introduced to the franchise back in 2001.
However, according to the Hollywood reporter, bosses have decided the star's alter-ego will not be killed off and will instead be written out of the script using existing footage of Walker in a bid to keep fan's satisfied and allow for the franchise to continue.
Filming has not yet resumed on the film, but the release date has been pushed back from next summer to April 2015.
Fast & Furious 7 will see Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Dwayne Johnson all reprise their roles.
But there are a few new faces to watch out for as Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell are all also on board.
It is also all change in the director's chair as James Wan has taken over from Justin Lin.
