Patti Smith reveals that she used Russell Crowe's performance as Noah as her inspiration when writing a lullaby for the film.
Smith has written a song for the film, which is sung by Crowe and Emma Watson in the movie.
We caught up with Smith on the red carpet where she exclusively talked to use about writing the music:
"I know this story well. I was really writing a song... I used Russell's Noah as my muse. Russell is such an emotional actor.
"He has such strength and sorrow in his countenance, that I was really trying to write a song that you could believe was drawn from him."
Smith also revealed that it was her friendship with director Darren Aronofsky that gave her the opportunity to work on the movie.
"I am friends with Darren, and he needed a lullaby for the movie. I like writing lullaby's - I have written a few - and I asked him if I could write it.
"I worked with Lenny Kaye on it. We wrote the song and Darren really liked it. Russell and Emma sang it, and I get to sing it at the end. It was a big honour."
Noah is out now.
