Paddington

Paddington has made it two weeks as the UK’s number one movie as it continues to perform well at the box office.

Paddington has been met well by the critics and continues to win over audiences as it took a further £3.8 million to hold off the challenge from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 for a second week.

Mockinjay- Part 1 was also another none mover at three as the movie has already become the tenth highest grossing film of 2014, despite only being on general release only three weeks. The movie took over £2.2 million this weekend to comfortably hold on to the number two spot.

Penguins of Madagascar - which is the first spin off film to the popular and successful animation franchise Madagascar - was the highest new entry inside the top ten this week, as it opened at number three.

The Imitation Game and Horrible Bosses 2 were both down a single place this week at four and five as they rounded off the top five. Interstellar fell out of the top five this week as it was also down one place at six.

Festive film Get Santa - which really is a great treat for all the family if you are looking for a movie to get into the Christmas mood - was new in at seven, as Jim Broadbent becomes the latest actor to take on the role of Father Christmas.

Nativity 3: Dude, Where’s My Donkey? Was down two places this week from six to eight, while St Vincent, which sees Bill Murray back on the big screen, was another new entry in at nine.
