We are counting down the days to the release of Paddington, as this iconic literary character comes to the big screen for the first time.

Paddington is based on the best selling and much loved books by Michael Bond, and will see Paul King in the director's chair.

Ben Whishaw is set to bring the character of Paddington to life, as he lends his voice to the film.

Colin Firth was originally set to take on this role, but walked away from the project when it was decided that his voice wasn't the right fit for the character.

A superb cast has been brought together for the movie, as Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Nicole Kidman, Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi, Michael Gambon, Jim Broadbent, and Imelda Staunton are all on board.

Paddington has grown up deep in the Peruvian jungle with his Aunt Lucy who, inspired by a chance encounter with an English explorer, has raised her nephew to dream of an exciting life in London.

When an earthquake destroys their home, Aunt Lucy decides to smuggle her young nephew on board a boat bound for England, in search of a better life.

Arriving alone atPaddington Station, Paddington soon finds that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family, who find him with a label tied around his neck which reads 'Please look after this bear. Thank you.'

They offer him a temporary home whilst he searches for the explorer who impressed Aunt Lucy all those years before. But when Paddington catches the eye of a sinister, seductive taxidermist, it isn't long before his home - and very existence - is under threat ...

Paddington is set to be one of the must see family movies this month and will introduce this character to a new generation while taking others back to their childhood.

Paddington is released 28th November.
