Paddington Bear has made some incredibly unique friends in a new clip released by Studio Canal this week, showing the furry little fan-favourite character behind bars for a crime he did not commit. Check out the funny preview below:
Serving as the follow-up film to the hugely successful first Paddington movie, the sequel will see the bear happily settled in at Windsor Gardens with the Brown family, having become a highly respected and popular member of the community thanks to his infectious personality.
Unfortunately, when searching for a present for his Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, the book he has his eye on is stolen and he’s put right in the frame. Finding himself right in the middle of one of the town’s biggest scandals, he and the Brown family must put their heads together and work harder than ever before if they’re to unmask the true thief behind the crime.
BAFTA-nominated director Paul King returns to the franchise to direct the film, having written the screenplay alongside the first film’s screenwriter, Simon Farnaby. David Heyman – producer of all eight Harry Potter movies – steps in to produce.
Paddington Bear will once again be voiced by Ben Whishaw in the film, with Sally Hawkins returning as Mary Brown, Hugh Bonneville as Henry Brown and Imelda Staunton voicing the beloved Aunt Lucy. Peter Capaldi, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Gambon and Hugh Grant all also star.
The earliest 12 reviews that have hit Rotten Tomatoes are all unanimously calling the movie a massive success, with plenty of 100% scores to its name already and a 100% rating on the reviews aggregate website. Exactly how the public respond to Paddington 2 remains to be seen, but we imagine that the movie will be taking in some big bucks in the box office this November.
Paddington 2 comes to cinemas across the UK on November 10, 2017.
