Oscar Isaac has called director Bryan Singer the 'godfather' of the comic book film genre.
Isaac is the big new addition to the X-Men: Apocalypse as he takes on the title character, who is the film's big new villain.
X-Men: Apocalypse will see the actor team up with the director for the first time as Singer returns to the director's chair.
Speaking at the premiere in London, the actor had nothing but praise for the filmmaker. He said: "He is the godfather of the genre.
"He was the first person to really take it seriously, find the best actors that he could and to tell the story in a real way. He has an incredible intelligence and understanding of the material."
Isaac is not the only new face on the cast list as we are going to see Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee take over the roles of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, and Nightcrawler for the first time.
This is the second consecutive blockbuster for Isaac as it comes after the huge success of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
The actor has already completed work on The Promise and filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII is already underway.
Isaac will reprise the role of Poe Dameron in the film, which sees Rian Johnson take over the director's chair from J.J. Abrams.
X-Men: Apocalypse is released 18th May.
