Orlando Bloom has described reprising the role of Legolas in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as 'a joy'.
Bloom first took on the role of Legolas in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and now is back in the second instalment of The Hobbit series.
Speaking to Today the actor said: "It was a joy actually," Bloom said. "I mean, I had such a wonderful time playing the character to begin with.
"And to have had the call to come back and get to don the blonde wig and the pointy ears was just wonderful."
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug sees Bloom reunite with filmmaker Peter Jackson; who is back in the director's chair.
There are some other familiar faces in the franchise including Ian McKellan, Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the first time that we will see Bloom in the series.
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug is released 13th December.
