Olivia Colman has dismissed the talk of her taking over the role of James/Jane Bond.
After Colman's stint in TV series The Night Manager, some fans on Twitter put her name forward to take over the James Bond franchise.
But when Deadline asked her about all of the talk, she said: "Yeah. I did hear that. But I think that's sort of a comedy tweet."
However, the actress admits that there is one Bond role that she would love to tackle if she ever got the chance.
She continued: "I like M. I'd love to be M one day. Well, maybe when Ralph Fiennes doesn't want to do it anymore, maybe he'll give me a ring."
Colman took on the role of spy Angela Burr in the adaptation of the John Le Carre novel alongside Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie.
And the British actress has voiced her support for Hiddleston landing the role of 007, should Daniel Craig walk away from the role.
She said: "I mean, he would be perfect, wouldn't he? He's the perfect specimen for Bond."
Colman is currently working on the new television adaptation of Watership Down, in which she will lend her voice to the character of Strawberry.
The movie is based on the book of the same name by Richard Adams and Gemma Arterton, John Boyega, Mackenzie Crook, Freddie Fox, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Kingsley, and James McAvoy are some of the other actors on board.
Colman is also set to reprise the role of Ellie Miller in the third series of Broadchurch next year, alongside David Tennant.
