Octavia Spencer added to her awards collection last night as she took home the Bafta for Best Supporting Actress.
Speaking on stage as she picked up the award Spencer thanked everyone for seeing past the fact that it is an American movie dealing with American history.
"It’s been said that The Help is an American movie about American problems in American history and I’m so grateful to you for seeing beyond that."
She saw off competition from Judi Dench, Carey Mulligan, Jessica Chastain and Melissa McCarthy.
Spencer has already won the Golden Globe and the Screen Actors Guild award for her role in The Help and now she looks red hot favourite to win for her performance.
In the Best Supporting Actor category there was another win for Christopher Plummer who, like Spencer, has dominated for his role in Beginners.
He to is nominated for an Oscar and looks like he is going to waltz away with the prize.
