Noomi Rapace says there was a trust between herself and Tom Hardy when making Child 44.
Rapace is set to take on the role of Raisa Demidova, who is the wife and ally of military police officer Leo Demidov, played by Tom Hardy, and her history with the star made filming scenes easier.
She told the The Independent's Radar Magazine: "I met Tom two years previously and we were looking for something to work on.
"What was really great was that we know each other really well, and we really trust each other, so we don't need to be polite, we don't need to start from zero.
"We could just melt into the next one. We had so much for free. It felt like we were this gypsy family coming from New York with all our family and the next stop was Prague."
Child 44 is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Tom Rob Smith, and sees Daniel Espinosa back in the director's chair.
And all star cast has been assembled for the film as Rapace and Hardy are joined by Gary Oldman, Joel Kinnaman, Jason Clarke and Vincent Cassel.
Child 44 is just one of two movies that we will be seeing Rapace in this year, as she has also completed work on The Drop.
The crime/drama will also see her star alongside Hardy, with Michaël R. Roskam in the director's chair.
Child 44 is released later this year.
