Nicolas Cage has said it is 'highly unlikely' that he will be appearing in The Expendables 3.
Rumours have been swirling that Cage could be one of the new faces to join the third instalment of the action franchise.
Cage is just one of a long line of actors that have been tipped for possible roles in The Expendables 3.
But it seems that the Oscar winner will not be joining the franchise.
Speaking to Den of Geek the actor said: "I'm not in Kick-Ass 2 and I don't think I'm in Expendables 3.
"And I like those guys, but I would say it would be highly unlikely that I'd be in that movie."
While Cage may not be making an appearance in The Expendables 3. but he has a whole host of projects in the pipeline.
He has completed work on Joe, and he is currently filming Tokarev; the latter sees him team up with director Paco Cabezas.
He is back on the big screen this week with The Frozen Ground, which also stars Vanessa Hudgens and John Cusack.
