We are going to be seeing plenty of Michael Fassbender on the big screen over the next year, and an adaptation of Macbeth is just one of the movies that is on the horizon.
Macbeth
Macbeth sees Fassbender team up with filmmaker Justin Kurzel for the first time as he returns to the director's chair for only his second feature film. Kurzel made his debut back in 2011 with the highly acclaimed Snowtown - I am excited to see him put his own stamp on such an iconic tale.
Fassbender takes on the title role in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Marion Cotillard - who will play Lady Macbeth - it will be the first time that the two has worked together.
And it is Fassbender and Cotillard who take centre stage in a trio of great new images released by Empire:
A great cast has been assembled for the film, as David Thewlis, Jack Reynor, Elizabeth Debicki, Paddy Considine, and Sean Harris complete the line-up.
Macbeth follows a Scottish duke, who has been told by a trio of witches that he will become King of Scotland one day. Driven by ambition and his wife, Macbeth sets out to claim the throne for himself.
Macbeth will be released in the UK later this year.
