Later this year, fans of Will Smith and Joel Edgerton will be able to watch the stars leading eagerly-anticipated Netflix original film Bright, from director David Ayer. Following the story of a pair of LAPD police officers – Officer Ward (Smith) and Officer Jakoby (Edgerton) – that must form an unlikely kinship to keep the streets of Los Angeles in order, the movie brings fantasy to the world of true crime and action.
This week, a fantastic new trailer for the film has been revealed, which you can check out below:
Bright is set in an alternate present day, where human and orc officers Ward and Jakoby find their usual routine patrol at night turn into something completely different to anything they’ve seen before. Fighting for the future of the planet as they know it, they’ll face legions of enemies in a bid to protect a once-forgotten relic which could, in the wrong hands, bring death and destruction to everybody.
What many may notice from the new trailer is the inclusion of two new original tracks from the film’s soundtrack; ‘Danger’ by Migos & Marshmello and ‘Home’ by Machine Gun Kelly, X Ambassadors and Bebe Rexha. The pair of tunes will be including on ‘Bright: The Album’, which will be jam-packed full of original material and becomes available for pre-order on November 9.
An all-star cast joins Smith and Edgerton including Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez, Ike Barinholtz, Enrique Murciano, Jay Hernandez, Andrea Navedo, Veronica Ngo, Alex Meraz, Margaret Cho, Brad William Henke, Dawn Oliveri and Kenneth Choi.
Ayer directs from a screenplay by Max Landis, with Ayer also serving as producer alongside Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless.
Bright hits Netflix in all territories where the streaming service is available and will be granted a limited theatrical release from December 22.
