Neil Burger will not be returning to the director's chair to helm Divergent sequel Insurgent.
Burger will be back next year as the first of Veronica Roth's novels are adapted for the big screen.
The movie may not yet be released, but Summit are already moving forward with plans to adapt Insurgent and Allegiant.
However, is seems that they are going to have to do it without Burger, as Variety report that he will not be returning.
Burger has brought us films such as The Lucky Ones and The Illusionist, but this is his first film since the success of Limitless.
Shailene Woodley is set to take on the central role of Tris, while Theo James, Kate Winslet, Zoe Kravitz, Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q and Jai Courtney are all also on board.
Summit have already announced that Insurgent is set for a March 2015 release, while Allegiant will follow a year later in 2016.
Divergent is released 4th April 2014.
