Natalie Portman says that she found the make up for the Dark Elves on Thor: The Dark World ‘pretty scary’.
The actress is back on the big screen this weekend as she reprises the role of Jane Foster in the second Thor film; the first time we have seen her take on this role since the success of the first film in 2011.
The actress revealed that co-star Christopher Eccleston would be in the make-up chair at 3am to be transformed into villain Malekith.
Speaking to the Fun radio station in France the actress said:
"They were pretty scary! Luckily you get to see the actors before their transformation. They have to be in make-up for so long.
"Christopher Eccleston would come to set at three in the morning and wouldn't be ready to shoot until 10am. That's like the next level of acting!"
Portman joins an all star cast for the film as Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba are all also reprising their roles from the first movie.
That first Thor film was the last time that we saw Portman on the big screen as she took time out to have her first child.
2014 is going to be a busy year for her as we are going to be seeing her star in Knight of Cups, Jane Got a Gun and an untitled Terrence Malick film.
