Naomie Harris has signed up for 'Rampage'.
The 40-year-old actress will star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the adventure film, which is based of the 1980s video game of the same name.
Taking to Twitter to express her excitement, Naomie said: "Thank you so much @TheRock! Huge fan of yours! Can't wait to dive into the world of #Rampage with you! Let's go! (sic)"
Whilst Dwayne wrote on his own account on the social media site: "My phone's been blowing up after this announcement. Good to see everyone so excited. Luv this woman! Cool & epic stuff to come. #Rampage (sic)"
Naomie is set to star as a geneticist opposite Dwayne's character and she is said to have particularly connected with the fun tone of the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Similarly to the video game, the movie will feature three animals - a gorilla, crocodile and wolf - who create chaos on North America's biggest cities and Johnson's character is the only one who can save them.
And Dwayne is set to reunite with 'San Andreas' director Brad Peyton on the movie, with the pair having also worked on 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' together.
The 44-year-old wrestler turned actor has been linked to the movie since June 2015. It has been penned by Ryan Engle and revised by Carlton Cuse, Ryan Condal and Adam Sztykiel.
Beau Flynn and John Rickard, Hiram Garcia and Peyton will produce whilst Marcus Viscidi, Jeff Fierson and Dany Garcia will executive produce.
'Rampage' is slated for release in April 2018.
