Mr Holmes is a movie that has already been winning people over the on festival circuit - it played at Berlin International Film Festival last month - and now a brand new teaser trailer for the film has arrived.
Mr Holmes sees Ian McKellen take on the role of the iconic sleuth Sherlock Holmes as his older years are explored in a way that they have never been before. The movie is based on the book by Mitch Cullin, which was in turn inspired by the work of Arthur Conan Doyle.
I have to say, I can't wait to see McKellen take on this role and I think that he has been perfectly cast for this role. You can see him in action in this brand new teaser trailer:
Mr Holmes sees Bill Condon back in the director's chair for the first time since The Fifth Estate back in 2013, and it sees him reunite with McKellen for their first project together since Gods and Monsters back in 1998.
A great cast has also been assembled around McKellen, as Laura Linney, Frances de la Tour, and Milo Parker are all set to star in this film that I cannot wait to see.
In 1947, the world famous sleuth has retired to a remote Sussex farmhouse, living in relative anonymity with only his housekeeper Mrs Munro and her young son Roger for company. Cantankerous, demanding and frustrated with the mis-representation of him in Watson's best-selling novels, he diverts his attention to an unsolved case.
As the mystery deepens, Sherlock tries desperately to recall the events of 30 years ago that ultimately led to his retirement.
Mr Holmes is released 19th June
